I'm sure you have so many questions regarding this whole process, and that's okay!
Here are some questions I get pretty often - just click the question to see the answer! :)

- WHAT'S YOUR APPROACH?

I want this to be as easy-going and fun as possible. My goal is to capture the moment happening in front of me just as it is so that you can relive your wedding day exactly as it was. There are certain times I'll step in to help direct/guide you if needed, but for the most part, I like to let things unfold naturally. I like to do a mixture of a photojournastic as well as an artistic/editorial approach so you can have the best of both worlds.

- CAN WE MEET BEFORE THE WEDDING?

yup
I love meeting my couples before the wedding because it's the best way for me to get a sense of your vibe together. ( Plus, I need to hear your proposal story in person!) We can Facetime/Skype or meet for tea, whatever suits your fancy! Honestly though, the best way to break the ice is the engagement session!

- WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY SESSION?

When you book, I send over a PDF guide full of tips on how to prep wardrobe for your session! I also share some fun tips to get you feeling more comfortable before the session starts as well.

- DO YOU HAVE BACK-UP GEAR AND LIGHTING?

Yup. There's no way I'd show up at a wedding without a back-up plan. I always have a minimum of two camera bodies on me, a variety of lenses fit for any occasion, too many batteries and memory cards to count, and flashes with light stands for low light areas. I prefer to shoot with natural light as often as I possibly can, but I will pull out a flash whenever necessary.

Rest assured, I've got you covered.

- I'M NOT PHOTOGENIC AND I FEEL AWKWARD IN FRONT OF A CAMERA. CAN YOU HELP?

Uhh, you're talking to a girl who stutters frequently and nervously says "yeah! hahahahaha" instead of simply asking someone to repeat themselves after not hearing what they said, only to find out they asked me "Are you a cat person or a dog person?"

yup yup
yup yup
I am the queen of awkward. You'll be fine. For real though, everyone is photogenic as long as they're out of their own head. The best thing you can do is to come to the shoot with an open mind and open heart. I will do everything in my power to get you feelin' comfortable and ready to rock it! We'll play games, listen to music, and make dad jokes. (I legit love puns.) It'll be a blast!

- HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY PHOTOS?

For portrait sessions, no longer than 4 weeks. For weddings and elopements: between 5-6 weeks.

It's just me behind this screen; no team of editors or anything like that. I do my best to get everything to you as fast as I can!

- WHAT IF YOU'VE NEVER SHOT AT MY VENUE BEFORE?

I'm gonna be real with you, I'm not at all intimated by venues or locations I've never shot at before. I've shot many venues for the first time and I only feel MORE inspired by them because it's a completely brand new environment for me to play! I've shot wedding ceremonies in the rain, in the wind, in harsh sunlight, in candle light, in COMPLETE darkness, large venues, small venues, indoors, outdoors. I have a variety of lenses from wide to telephoto so it doesn't matter if it's a tiny room or a church where I can only stand in one area at the back of the pews. I've got multiple flashes, LED lights, and stands to ensure I'm covered no matter what your lighting situation is. And on top of all of that, I always arrive early at a venue I've never been to so that I can scout the area pre-coverage. I can map out not only where the best places for portraits will be, but at what time of day as well. I'm tellin' ya, I gotya covered.

- DO YOU DO VENDOR WALK THRUS OR VENUE VISITS?

In genaral, I don't visit venues ahead of time because they can be difficult to fit into my schedule. During the week, I have my personal days, portrait sessions, and admin/editing work. Additionally, over the years I haven't found them to be any more beneficial than when I scout the day of. Unless I arrive at the same time of year, the same time of day and similar weather conditions, the light will look pretty different than it does on the actual day of the event. Rest assured, I always give myself at least 1 hour to scout on wedding day before any coverage begins (that way it doesn't cut into the time we have for your actual wedding) so I can scope the area and track the sun on my phone to get an idea where I'd like to have first look, portraits, etc. This gives me a better feel for what it will actually be like the day of and then it's all fresh in my mind. Every wedding I've shot, I've approached like this and haven't ever run into any issues!

- CAN YOU SLIM ME DOWN IN PHOTOSHOP?

yup
From the bottom of my heart, I truly want to empower my clients in feeling comfortable in their own skin and defying the beauty standards of our society. I will retouch things that are not normally there, IE: a blemish, pimple, etc. But other than that, I don't retouch much because ALL of you deserves to be celebrated and embraced! As for slimming you down, I truly believe that you are beautiful exactly as you are and I want to help you find that within yourself.

- CAN I HAVE THE UNEDITED IMAGES?

I don't give out RAW/unedited photos. I spend a lot of time making your photos awesome both in camera and in post-production, and have spent a hot minute creating a custom editing style that fits my photography. Don't worry though, you'll get all of the best shots!

- DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS?

Let's talk about this, because I know it can be pretty complicated and I want our communication to be honest and open. I take your investment in all of this very seriously. It means the world to me that you're trusting me with something as important as your freakin' wedding! But photography isn't cheap and neither is running a business. My packages are designed to be able to cover all the costs it takes to keep my business running (taxes, insurance, business licenses, gear, monthly subscriptions, my time, and much more) and support my husband and our fur babies while still trying to make it affordable for you.

I get it though, everything adds up and there are expenses other than photography involved. If you have a budget that doesn't fit with my pricing, still reach out! Sometimes I'm able to create a custom package that works for both of us or map out a custom payment plan.

- HOW DO I BOOK YOU?

We'll chat about your wedding, figure out what you're looking for and which package suits you best, and then I'll send over a contract & invoice where you can sign & pay, both digitally. All your information is enrypted so it's safe!

PLEASE NOTE: No date can be booked without a signed contract & paid retainer. All dates are on a first come, first serve basis. If multiple clients inquire about the same date, it would go to the client who puts down a retainer & signs a contract first, regardless of the consultation process.

- HOW DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENT?

Most payments are paid via credit or debit card. I do not accept venmo or paypal. If you prefer to pay by check, please inquire within.
Weddings - $1000 retainer, remaining balance due 30 days before the wedding
Elopements - $500 retainer, remaining balance due 30 days before the elopement
Portrait Sessions - $100 retainer, remaining balance due 14 days before the session

- WHAT'S YOUR REFUND POLICY?

All retainers are non-refundable. Weddings are unique because they typically only happen on Fridays or Saturdays and get booked out months in advanced. When something gets cancelled, it's unlikely I can book that day again.

Portrait sessions: Retainers are non-refundable, and any completed session with delivered photos cannot be refunded.

- DO YOU TRAVEL?

For now, I am not taking on any destination weddings and only working locally in LA/Southern California.
